Acuant is checking into a big space in the hospitality sector: The company has partnered with Intelity, which offers an extensive hotel guest experience and management platform.
The companies’ offerings are highly complementary, particularly with respect to Acuant’s AssureID document reading system. By integrating it into its guest check-in platform, Intelity can now enable customers of its hotel clients to remotely confirm their identities for check-in and activate their digital keys, potentially bypassing the front desk entirely.
In a statement announcing the integration, Intelity CEO Robert Stevenson explained that “[f]riction at the front desk and check-in delays remain an ongoing pain point for guests and hotel operators alike”. So by delivering Acuant’s remote ID verification system to his firm’s platform, he said, “we are one step closer to a fully tracked, optimized and automated check-in process.”
The integration marks a potentially important expansion of Acuant’s business activities beyond the financial services sector where its identity solutions appear to have proven most popular. And while the Intelity integration is currently concerned only with Acuant’s AssureID system, it would seem to be an area in which Acuant’s facial recognition technology could also offer a valuable contribution in the future.
