Those familiar with TV and films that feature biometric solutions might find voice biometrics an odd choice for something as sensitive as mCommerce, especially when it comes to bank transactions, but AGNITiO seem set on proving old and worn out stereotypes wrong. Gone are the days when a fraudster could record a victim saying a passcode in order to replay it later at a time when criminal activity is most convenient. Though the old “conversation on tape” trick makes for thrilling horror (just watch the first scene of NBC’s Hannibal for an example), AGNITiO’s liveness detection algorithm is working so that even the infamous Red Dragon won’t be able to get past bank security.
This is especially true now that Dictao, a provider of software-base digital trust and security solutions, has partnered with the newly rebranded AGNITiO in order to provide Voice iD powered authentication factors to its clients.
Dictao’s commercial clients include BNP Paribas, BPCE, SG, Ministère de l’Intérieur, Total and Airbus, and they will all now be benefiting from AGNITiO’s Voice iD as an addition to what the digital trust provider offers them in the area of security assurance. This is especially beneficial to the client for two reasons: mobile voice biometrics are incredibly easy to use and according to AGNITiO, incredibly difficult to fool, with Voice iD detecting 97 percent of all spoofing attempts.
“We believe in the power of Voice iD to advance the use of the spoken voice to create a reliable and user-friendly mobile banking experience,” says Bertrand Moussel, Dictao’s executive vice president, alliances and international. “By combining AGNITiO’s Voice iD with anti-spoofing technology with the multitude of authentication factors we already support, our enterprise clients can securely and rapidly integrate Voice iD into their unique solution, without changing the digital applications and services already in place.”
This last point greatly supports AGNITiO’s position, bolstered by it’s recently updated branding: strong mobile authentication made easy. Because of the low friction nature of the KIVOX Voice iD line, companies wanting to integrate voiceprint biometrics as an additional security factor don’t need to worry about teaching end-users about a new system. Voice iD layers on top of the structure in place by Dictao which already supports a wide range of security factors including certificates, mobile devices, bank cards and, of course, biometrics.
This partnership is further underlining that voice authentication has a strong and natural place in the world of post-password mobile ID. With mCommerce solutions that can be bolstered with the addition of passive biometrics like Voice iD – solutions that can simply block or redirect fraud attempts – working alongside other factors finding a home on smartphones, we’re moving to a future where multi-factor identification isn’t only more secure than we might expect, but so easy that it’s essential.
