Earlier today at Money20/20 in Las Vegas, Bionym announced the world’s first wearable biometric payment solution, which is currently being trialed with a number of financial institutions including the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). Users taking part in the trial will authenticate with Bionym’s Nymi wristband, which offers persistent idenity verification via unique EKG readings, and pay for goods at point of sale terminals with the tap of their wrists.
Mobile ID World president Peter O’Neill – in town to host a panel about biometrics and finance – had a chance to speak with Bionym’s president Andrew D’Souza at the conference today. He got the scoop on this new and exciting financial trial, as well as the other applications that the Nymi wristband’s unique brand of biometrics can serve.
