FaceTec has a new biometrics industry expert on its advisory board: Jay Meier, founder and managing partner at Sage Capital Advisors, will now be offering his expertise to the company.
In a statement announcing Meier’s appointment, FaceTec described him as “an award-winning financial securities analyst and expert in Identity Access Management, Credentialing and Biometrics”. From 2008 to 2010, Meier worked as a Senior Research Analyst specializing in identification, cryptography, and biometrics for Feltl and Company; and from 2013 to 2015, Meier served as the VP of Corporate Development for another high-profile biometric technology company, BIO-key.
Meier joins FaceTec’s advisory board at a crucial time for the company, which launched its mobile facial recognition solution, ZoOm, this past summer. The SDK is designed to enable 3D facial recognition for Android and iOS apps, and was showcased at the recent Money20/20 event in Las Vegas.
Commenting on his appointment, Meier lauded the company for its flagship offering, calling it “a ground-breaking product” that “is perfectly timed for significant market expansion.”
Meier joins a robust team on the advisory board, which also includes Microsoft Korea CEO Alfred Koh, and two computer science experts from the University of Notre Dame.
