“To get started, users simply need to download the wearable EMM app on their Tizen smartwatches.”
Samsung SDS has launched a new Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solution for Tizen-based smartwatches at this week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
The solution is designed to allow smartwatches to operate without the need for paired smartphones, with enterprise administrators able to remotely control GPS and NFC features and the installation and deletion of apps. The solution lets companies take advantage of such wearables for enterprise communications, with Samsung SDS asserting in a statement that “[u]sers such as ground staff at airports, flight attendants, and employees at theme parks can use both hands freely while they are dispersed across various locations to increase productivity at work”; indeed, Samsung recently highlighted how SATS Ltd. benefitted from outfitting staff with Samsung Gear S3 smartwatches. To get started, users simply need to download the wearable EMM app on their Tizen smartwatches.
Explaining the solution, Samsung SDS business unit leader Wonpyo Hong said it “meets the demands of the IoT era,” a framing that could perk the ears of executives and administrators looking to leverage IoT solutions in the enterprise.
