Gionee’s newest smartphones feature Fingerprint Cards (FPC) sensors. FPC has announced that both the M5 Plus and the M5 Enjoy sport FPC1145 sensors.
It’s the same sensor model used in Huawei’s Honor 7i, and it’s powered by the algorithm software developed by FPC’s main software partner, Precise Biometrics. As implemented in the latest additions to Gionee’s Marathon line, the technology complements other sophisticated mid-range smartphone features like a Mediatek MT6753 quad-core processor in the M5 Enjoy, for example, and an octa-core CPU in the M5 Plus.
These latest FPC sensor integrations help to cap off a year that has been rife with them. The company’s profits have soared as it has enjoyed its position as a leading fingerprint sensor supplier in a market that is expanding rapidly, and FPC predicts further growth for 2o16, with many more such integrations to come.
