Mobile commerce dominated the news once again last week at Mobile ID World. Venmo had in-app payments enabled, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay each garnered new support, and Alipay made its way out of its home country of China thanks to its partnership with Uber. Meanwhile, Goode Intelligence released new market research forecasting massive growth for the financial service biometrics market.

Microsoft and BIO-key have completed their 12-city tour in promotion of Windows Hello—the biometric security platform built into Windows 10. The platform is FIDO Certified and aims to help users ditch outdated password security methods. Speaking of FIDO, we reported last week that fingerprint biometrics company CrucialTech is set to host the strong authentication consortium’s first interoperability test event ever held outside the US.
