Palo Alto-based Jumio has opened a new office in London.
In a statement announcing the new location, Jumio framed the move in terms of expansive growth, particularly with respect to the EMEA region. The company recently celebrated a highly successful first quarter in terms of revenues, which jumped 47 percent compared to Q1 of 2016, and it says that over that period its EMEA account management team doubled while its technical department tripled in sized. Accordingly, its new Shoreditch office offers some extra space for the new staff, and “positions the business at the heart of London’s financial centre and consolidates Jumio’s global reach alongside its offices in Palo Alto, Vienna and Rajasthan,” according to a statement from the company.
Commenting further, Jumio CEO Stephen Stuut called the new office “a key step forward in our ambitious growth strategy,” adding that “Shoreditch is the perfect platform for us to grow in Europe’s booming finance, sharing economy and online gaming sectors, among others.”
The company’s growth revolves, of course, around its Netverify Trusted Identity-as-a-Service platform, which combines document reading and facial recognition capabilities to enable mobile-based identity verification. The platform recently netted Jumio a Bronze Stevie Award at the Annual American Business Awards, and is evidently proving popular among a growing client base.
