Mastercard has announced the biggest and most diverse class for its Mastercard Start Path program yet.
Launched near the start of 2014, Mastercard Start Path is an accelerator program for later-stage startups. Participants are offered operational support, investment, and access to Mastercard executives and partners around the world.
The 11 members of its newest class span across the fields of healthcare, blockchain, and social media-based payments. Some have already generated substantial buzz on their own, such as HYPR, whose decentralized approach to digital credentials has attracted considerable investment from the VC community. Other Start Path participants include AID:Tech, b.well, Flutterwave, Goodworld, Mobeewave, Railsbank, Sensibill, ShieldPay, Trunomi, and Zeta Optima.
In a statement announcing the newest class, Mastercard Start Path VP Amy Neale emphasized that “[t]he diversity of Start Path proves how quickly the pace of innovation is happening in so many areas.”
Meanwhile, applications for the next six-month Mastercard Start Path program will be open until January 15th.
