Fingerprint Cards (FPC) fingerprint sensors have found their way into Yulong’s new Android smartphone, the companies have revealed. The mobile device is called Coolpad Tiptop Pro, and features the FPC1025 sensor.
In a statement, FPC CEO Jörgen Lantto expressed excitement about the integration. It’s a product of the higher-than-anticipated sales that the company has enjoyed so far in the second quarter, which have compelled FPC to bump up its revenue projections for the year. Lantto explained that “Yulong is a leading smartphone manufacturer in China”, and suggested that the company will benefit from the technological capabilities of the FPC1025 sensor, which “supports 360 degree finger rotation capability, fast response time and industry leading 3D image quality.”
The company has been enjoying a lot of success from demand from the Asian smartphone market, which was a major force driving the string of orders the company has received over the last several months. And that is partly a product of FPC’s efforts to focus on building small, reliable fingerprint sensors appropriate for smartphones and other mobile devices.
