“In an age of required vigilance and preparedness, homeland security, first responders, and law enforcement personnel have an ever-increasing need to operate real-time in dynamic environments with maximum efficiency.”
This is Cross Match Technology senior vice president of marketing John Hinmon, speaking to the need for mobility that the company provides solutions to. Mobile authentication offerings, despite the increasing traction they are receiving in consumer markets like smartphone authentication, still find a strong demand in the law enforcement, border control and national security verticals mentioned by Hinmon.
Cross Match’s SEEK Avenger handheld and Authenticator credential reader serve the needs of these markets, not by authenticating the user that holds it, but by allowing for the verification of the user’s subjects, be they criminals registered in a database or foreign visitors cleared to cross a border.
Both of these solutions will be on display at the Secure Tech public safety, emergency management and security conference which is being held at the Ottawa Convention Centre in, Ontario this week. Cross Match has been very active in the conference and exhibition in recent months, showcasing these technologies most recently at the Biometric Exhibition and Conference in London. Those who were unable to attend that conference will now have the chance to see the SEEK Avenger and Authenticator, as well as the WEBS enrollment software and Cross Match’s 1000PX palm scanner in action by visiting Canada tomorrow and Wednesday.
