USA Technologies (USAT) is enabling widespread support for Apple Pay through its 300,000+ vending machines across America. The support comes by way of USAT’s MORE program, which comprises loyalty cards and direct payroll deduction payments for staff of participating companies.
The move will see compatible vending machines upgraded to support Apple Pay. When users opt for the mPayment platform at these vending machines, whether via an iPhone or Apple Watch, they’ll receive a prompt inviting them to add a MORE card to their Apple Pay digital wallets.
It’s a development that comes after internal studies conducted by USAT last year that suggested the inclusion of Apple Pay as a payment option at vending machines could increase transactions and overall sales. There may also be growing excitement about mPayments more broadly, with the Canadian National Vending Alliance having moved to embrace mPayments last year as well.
