A Fingerprint Cards sensor is being used in a new device from AGM Mobile, a Samoa-based developer of smartphones designed for outdoor use. Its new AGM X1 device features an FPC1155 fingerprint sensor.
On its website, AGM asserts that its X1 device features a waterproof fingerprint sensor, as well as other outdoor-use features including IP68 water and dust resistance, and a titanium alloy frame. The company also asserts that the smartphone features facial recognition, making it the second device to include such functionality along with FPC fingerprint recognition, after LG’s recently announced G6 Plus.
AGM appears to be a new client for FPC, suggesting that the company continues to grow its roster of mobile customers even as it seeks to extend beyond the crowded mobile market. Another apparently new client, UMIDIGI, was included among multiple new integrations announced last week.
