Olea Sensor Networks has announced a new biometric wearable that can monitor heart rate and respiration rate without the need for physical contact with the user.
Dubbed OSN Quadcorder with HeartSignature, it’s the latest refinement of Olea’s contactless, wireless biometric wearable technology. It’s a lightweight system at only one ounce, and is designed to offer unobtrusive biometric monitoring with its wireless functionality – it could be worn on a lanyard or even slipped into a shirt pocket in order to function. The biometric data it collects can immediately be transmitted to a remote server, with users able to view their stats on Olea’s Quadcorder mobile app.
In a statement announcing the new solution, Olea CEO and CTO Frank Morese asserted that it also offers “accuracy equal to or better than today’s ECGs and spirometers,” and asserted that his firm is looking for “the right partner to bring it into production and to the market.”
Olea says it will demo its technology by appointment at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show, which is scheduled to run from January 9th to 12th in Las Vegas.
