Biometric Authentication Wearable Keeps Workplaces Sanitary

Biometrics News - Biometric Authentication Wearable Keeps Workplaces Sanitary

Nymi has partnered with Systec & Solutions to make its biometric authentication technology more appealing to enterprise customers with strict sanitary requirements. Systec & Solutions is a provider of hardware readers built specifically for industrial cleanroom settings.

Nymi, meanwhile, is the creator of the Nymi Band, a wearable device that monitors cardiac biometrics to provide continuous authentication. The device has gained traction in the pharmaceutical industry, where it allows users to log in and gain access to secure areas with an NFC tap instead of a manual input on a keyboard.

The partnership with Systec & Solutions will improve on those capabilities. The platform will integrate Systec’s hardware with Nymi Enterprise Edition, which includes the Nymi Band and Nymi software. The Systec readers will be able to verify the identities of employees using the biometric information stored in the Band, so employees will be able to gain access to corporate cleanrooms without touching a keypad and dirtying their hands.

Nymi has repeatedly pushed the Nymi Band as an enterprise-grade security solution over the past few years. Those efforts should get a boost from this latest partnership. Nymi also formed a strategic partnership with the Japanese industrial imaging company Konica Minolta back in 2018.
