GetID, a new Estonian-based Know Your Customer (KYC) identity verification company is featured at this year’s Slush Helsinki 2019 tech startup and investor conference.
The main focus of GetID’s KYC platform is fraud prevention, with their goal being to make identity spoofing and money laundering using fake documents impossible. They are also currently working on developing their own form of digital identity that would eliminate the need for many of the KYC verification steps that take valuable time during onboarding and often require users to download large amounts of documents.
At Slush 2019, GetID will be showing off their new SDKs for mobile (available for both iOS and Android) and web, and their ID verification and facial recognition services, as well as hosting a panel on client onboarding.
The Slush conference was started in 2008 in Helsinki and has since grown to be a major gathering of venture capital. Billing itself as different than other tech meet-ups, Slush embraces a ‘mythical feel’, taking pride in creating a ‘weird world of [its] own’, according to the event’s website.
This year’s Slush Helsinki is the largest edition of the conference yet, with over 25,000 attendees including 2,000 investors looking for the next big startup to come out of Northern Europe. Slush reported that more than 10,000 pre-booked investor meetings took place around last year’s conference.
GetID’s participation comes just a few weeks after they hosted a talk at the Finance Magnates London Summit, recently held in London on November 12 and 13. The talk, titled “KYC challenges and innovations in the financial sector”, was given by Dmitry Kuravkin, Legal and Compliance Adviser at GetID, and covered digital identity initiatives and trends on the market.
The two-day Slush 2019 event is in its final day today at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Center.
