Intellicheck has teamed up with DealerSafeGuardSolutionS to reduce the threat of fraud facing car dealerships. To that end, DealerSafeGuardSolutionS will integrate Intellicheck’s Retail ID solution into its own Digital Compliance Enforcement platform.
DealerSafeGuardSolutionS currently provides Digital Compliance services for more than 550 dealerships in the United States. The company’s platform helps automate some of the packet procedures that are mandatory for those dealers.
Retail ID, meanwhile, will supplement that with an additional layer of identity verification and document recognition. Intellicheck’s desktop and mobile app will allow auto dealers to scan customer IDs to confirm that their documents are legitimate, and that each customer is indeed the person they claim to be.
Doing so will prevent people from purchasing cars with forged identity documents, and allow dealers to catch those people much earlier in the sales process. Such fraud costs dealers hundreds of thousands of dollars, especially since many automotive lenders are now trying to make the dealerships shoulder the responsibility for fraud-related losses.
“Fraudsters are using stolen personally identifiable information to create sophisticated fake IDs to rip-off dealers,” explained DealerSafeGuardSolutionS Founder and CEO Doug Fusco. “As a result of this collaboration, dealers will have a comprehensive, integrated platform assuring them that every license is inspected and verified every time.”
Intellicheck added support for facial recognition through a partnership with Applied Recognition that was announced last January. Before that, the company received a patent for a fingerprint-based biometric smart card system.
