Baidu and Conexant have teamed up to offer development kits for the integration of far-field voice interaction for AI systems.Conexant, Baidu Offer Far-Field Voice Solution for IoT Developers

Available starting this week, the kits revolve around the integration of Conexant’s CX20921 two-mic and CX20924 four-mic voice input processors; and, on the software side, Baidu’s DuerOS AI voice interaction platform. Conexant’s technology is designed to filter out noise and echoes when listening for the user’s voice, while Baidu’s software enables responsiveness and interaction from the devices employing the solutions.

In a statement announcing the collaboration, Conexant President Saleel Awsare suggested it’s meant to address the larger trend of voice interaction becoming a central user interface as mobile and IoT technology continues to evolve, saying, “The voice revolution is a global phenomenon.”

The companies’ announcement comes soon after the news broke that Synaptics is acquiring Conexant as part of a larger effort to expand its presence in the IoT market.
