Gemalto and Entrust Datacard are expanding their partnership to co-promote their SafeNet Data Protection On Demand and ioTrust Security Solution offerings as a comprehensive Internet of Things security package.
In announcing the collaboration, the companies explained that Entrust Datacard’s ioTrust Security Solution is designed to allow for the identification of IoT devices from the manufacturing process to the end of their operational lifecycle. Gemalto’s SafeNet Data Protection On Demand solution, meanwhile, offers cloud-based encryption, key brokering, and key storage for IoT devices and data. Both solutions are also available for on-premise deployments.
News of the co-promotion effort comes after Gemalto and Entrust Datacard announced this past February that they would combine their Software-as-a-Service and instant issuance platforms to let financial services clients print personalized chip cards on demand.
Commenting on the latest collaboration in a statement, Entrust Datacard IoT solution general manager Josh Jabs pointed to the ongoing struggle in the enterprise sector to ensure that security keeps pace with the IoT. “Extending our long-standing relationship with Gemalto to IOT made sense as together we make critical elements of IoT security easier to adopt,” Jabs said.
