“…together, the solutions let cellular customers switch providers and services without the need to go to a physical store so that their SIM cards can be changed.”
A Hong Kong-based eSIM consultancy is going to help IDEMIA deliver its solutions to OEMs.
According to a statement from the companies, 10T Tech’s aim is “to optimize platform integration times” for its clients so that they “can use both eSIM and eUICC Plug-in devices to enable rapid deployment across their whole subscriber base.” Embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Cards allow SIM profiles to be altered remotely, while eSIM technology lets administrators program SIMs remotely; together, the solutions let cellular customers switch providers and services without the need to go to a physical store so that their SIM cards can be changed.
Commenting on the 10T Tech partnership, IDEMIA Mobile Operators Business Unit EVP Fabien Jautard said his firm is “very pleased” that it has been selected as a 10T Tech partner, and said that IDEMIA’s technology “brings flexibility and is able to address any type of MNO and MVNO customers.”
The news comes about a month after IDEMIA’s announcement that its remote eSIM provisioning solution had been embraced by Thai MNO TrueMove H for a new smartwatch solution, underscoring IDEMIA’s growing presence in the emerging eSIM market.
