Exostar has received Level 3 Identity Assurance Trust Framework certification from the Kantara Initiative. The certification is good for a period of three years, and marks Exostar as an approved credential service provider for the healthcare and life sciences industries.
In plain terms, that means that Exostar’s technology can be used to facilitate the electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS), in accordance with the latest DEA regulations. It will also position Exostar to work with Kantara to set identity and access management standards for regulated industries moving forward.
Exostar is one of only three companies to receive a full service designation from Kantara. The certification audit was performed by an accredited third-party organization, which evaluated its identity, authentication, and credentialing technologies based on the NIST’s 800-63 standards, in categories like security, governance, infrastructure, and operations.
“The Full Service Trust Mark of Approval from Kantara offers yet another independent validation of the quality, security, and compliance of our products,” said Exostar CTO Sudeep Dharan. “As a result, we anticipate more rapid acceleration in the growth of our communities in the months ahead.”
Exostar is best known for its Secure Access Manager and ProviderPass solutions, the latter of which is now being used to process 2 million prescriptions per month. Kantara, meanwhile, recently listed The Slandala Company as an accredited Class of Approval assessor. IDEMIA joined the Kantara Board of Directors back in March.
