Mobile authentication specialist IPification has announced the appointment of Peter Luk as its new Chief Information Officer.
In announcing the appointment, IPification described Peter Luk as a 25-year veteran of the IT field, noting that he previously served as a ‘Chief Security Advisor’ for an unnamed organization in the financial service and insurance sector. The company also asserted that over the course of his career, Luk “has successfully built extensive networks and partnerships with tech giants worldwide including Google, Facebook, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, IBM, Huawei, Accenture, and more.”
Luk’s role with the company will be an unusual one for a CIO. According to IPification, he will be tasked with ascertaining market intelligence, building relationships with potential investors, fundraising, and steering IPification toward an IPO, in addition to “creating business value through technology”.
On that latter note, IPification specializes in mobile authentication technology based on device, SIM, phone number, and IP address verification. The company established a partnership with Cambodian mobile network operator Metfone in January, and announced plans to bring its one-click mobile phone verification solution to the United Kingdom shortly thereafter.
“With the explosive growth we’re experiencing, it is the perfect time to add to the team someone with the skillset and extensive experience that Peter has,” asserted IPification CEO Stefan Kostic. “I am looking forward to working with Peter closely, he has a lot to bring to the team.”
IPification says that its authentication solutions currently reach over 350 million devices in 12 markets around the world.
