Add Your Voice to the FindBiometrics 2018 Year in Review Survey

November 15, 2018

It's Been a Rollercoaster Year – Take Stock with Our Annual Biometrics Survey

It has been another remarkable year for the biometrics industry, with a lot of activity across a wide range of sectors. Apple, which spearheaded the mobile biometrics revolution with its launch of Touch ID five years ago, went ahead and confirmed its shift to 3D facial recognition with the launch of three new iPhones featuring Face ID; meanwhile, biometric passenger screening spread to more airports across the US and around the globe; police’ use of biometrics entered the public debate in a big way as Amazon and other major tech companies came under fire for government deals; and artificial intelligence started to emerge as one of the most powerful technological forces shaping the industry.

Those are just a few major examples of the trends that have been playing out this year. It’s a lot to take in, but it’s also pretty typical, at this point, of an industry that has seen rapid evolution and change after 9/11 and with the rise of digital technologies. That’s why each year, FindBiometrics organizes an industry-wide survey, our Year in Review. It offers an opportunity to hear directly from our readership – which comprises some of the best and brightest minds working in biometrics – about how those in the field actually see things. Its multiple-choice and Agree/Disagree format makes it easy to fill out, and we publish the findings at the turn of the year, helping everyone to get a clear view of the state of play.

Of course, this kind of thing is most valuable when everyone participates, so please, take a few minutes and fill out the survey below. It will ensure your voice is heard by the rest of the industry, and will help everyone to get a strong sense of where we are as we head into 2019.
