“The idea is to highlight an approach that can span across a range of applications, from mobile e-commerce to electronic government services.”
While many companies are taking the opportunity of this year’s Mobile World Congress to show off their latest particular solutions, Gemalto wants attendees to see how it can handle the entire digital identity process.
The company’s showcase revolves around the concept of ‘Trusted Digital Identities’. Leveraging its expertise in biometric technologies and mobile services, Gemalto is showcasing its ability to capture ID documents, verify them against the document holder’s identity, and establish digital credentials that can be matched against those physical materials.
The idea is to highlight an approach that can span across a range of applications, from mobile e-commerce to electronic government services. But Gemalto is highlighting the advantages to mobile network operators in particular. In a statement, Gemalto SVP Guillaume Lafaix explained that “MNOs and other service providers need to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment,” and that Gemalto’s “Trusted Digital Identity solutions offer a highly flexible approach to accelerating digitalization strategies.”
The company is demoing these solutions from booth N° 2J41 in Hall 2 of the Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, which hosts Mobile World Congress until Thursday, March 1st.
