Next week, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, in Wanchai, Hong Kong, close to 100 exhibitors from around the globe will be gathering for the fifth annual CARTES Asia Secure Connexions event.
“CARTES Asia is the quintessential event for professionals from the banking, payment, IT, security, retail, telecom, government, transport, and smart card industries looking for new smart technology products,” explains Isabelle Alfano, events director for CARTES.
CARTES is also the curator of one of the most prestigious awards in secure technology: the SESAMES Awards.
The nine nominations were announced yesterday across the three categories being recognized.
In the category of “Advanced Payment & Mobile Money” we have solutions from UINT, MCPayment and BC Card.
For “Card Manufacturing & Personalization” Oberthur has been nominated for its Rabbit Card Application on DragonFly NFC SIM. This will be competing against SecureIC’s CyberCPU and Watchdata’s Elfopass-Coin.
The final category is “Secure Identity” that sees Watchdata being recognized for its TimeCOS Roaming solution, in competition with SECNEO LIMITED’s Bangcle AppSecurity for Android and RealMe assertion service from the New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs.
At the most recent CARTES Secure Connexions event, held in Paris, France, during autumn of last year Oberthur walked away with an award for its “My Voice is my Password” mobile authentication solution, powered by AGNITiO Voice iD.
The winners of the Asian SESAMES will be announced on March 19. The highest recognition will go to the solution, specifically developed for the Asia-Pacific market – that is dubbed the most innovative in its respective category.
