Google has introduced a new bulk deletion capability in its Password Manager, enabling users to remove all saved passwords and passkeys simultaneously. The feature is currently being rolled out to users with beta versions of Google Play Services, marking another step in the company’s broader push toward enhanced credential management and security.
The functionality appears in version 25.10.31 of the Play Services app, though it has also been observed in version 25.09.60. The new capability significantly improves upon the previous system, which required users to delete credentials individually. The update follows Google’s recent enhancements to its Password Manager, which included improved password strength assessment and breach monitoring features.
Users can access this feature through the Google Password Manager settings by selecting the “Delete data” button adjacent to “Delete all Google Password Manager data.” Upon confirmation, the system permanently removes all stored credentials. The streamlined approach matches current industry moves toward simplified security management, similar to Microsoft’s recent shift toward passkeys.
The bulk deletion feature serves multiple purposes, especially helping users transitioning to alternative password management solutions or implementing organizational security changes. The feature supports Google’s broader security initiatives, including the company’s testing of AI-powered automated password changes in response to security breaches and its recent implementation of enhanced authentication measures.
While Google Password Manager now offers this comprehensive deletion option, other browsers maintain different approaches to credential management. Chrome and Firefox provide various methods for managing saved passwords, though they may not include a single-action deletion feature. The development comes as the industry continues to evolve toward passwordless authentication solutions, with passkeys gaining increasing support across major platforms.
Once executed, the deletion process is irreversible, and users cannot recover their removed credentials. The feature is currently limited to devices running beta versions of Google Play Services, with broader availability expected in future releases. The measured rollout approach allows Google to gather user feedback and ensure system stability before wide deployment.
