With the unveiling of Google’s latest mobile devices, Fingerprints (FPC) is celebrating some very high-profile deployments. The company has revealed that Google’s Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones, as well as its Pixel Slate tablet, are all using Fingerprints fingerprint sensors.

Google’s smartphones feature the FPC1075 sensor model, while the Pixel Slate uses the FPC1145, a fingerprint sensor that was also recently integrated into the Moto Z3 smartphone. The Pixel 3 smartphones’ fingerprint sensors are rear-mounted, while the Pixel Slate’s fingerprint sensor has been integrated into its power button.

In a statement announcing the integrations, Fingerprints asserted that its “sensors offer competitive advantages including unique image quality, extreme robustness, low power consumption and excellent biometric performance.”

The integrations come at a time when FPC is looking to expand its business into new application areas due to shrinking margins in the competitive and now highly saturated mobile fingerprint sensor market. Nevertheless, given the prominence of Google’s brand, the tech giant’s selection of Fingerprints’ technology once again for its latest high-profile  hardware products represents a major win for the company in the market area that has been its mainstay.
