HID Global continues to garner praise for its Location Services portfolio. This time around, the company is specifically being recognized for its HID Location Services for Workplace Safety solution, which has received a 2020 Pandemic Tech Innovation Award from TMC and its TMC Labs product review division.
As the name would suggest, the Pandemic Tech Innovation Awards celebrate hardware and software solutions that make it easier for society to function (and to function safely) during a pandemic. In that regard, HID Location Services for Workplace Safety certainly fits the bill. The contact tracing tool was released in June to help manage the spread of COVID-19, and uses Bluetooth HID BEEKS Aware fobs to enforce social distancing protocols in indoor spaces.
On that front, the fobs can be configured to issue an audio alert whenever two people are within six feet of one another for a specified length of time. They also provide an organization with a better view of people’s movements at a given facility, tracking each employee’s path through the building and their proximity to other people in real time.
“HID Location Services solution for Workplace Safety is helping organizations simplify and streamline employee social distancing and contact tracing protocols to help prevent workplace exposure to COVID-19,” explained HID Global IoT Services VP Mark Robinton.
“HID Global has displayed its commitment to quality and innovation in the development of their tech solutions contributing to managing and overcoming pandemic outbreaks,” added TMC CEO Rich Tehrani.
In March, HID Global became the first company to appear in the Leaders quadrant in the realm of Indoor Location Services in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant report. The company has been particularly focused on the healthcare industry, and previously partnered with Phunware to develop a wayfinding app that will make it easier to navigate hospital buildings.
