HID Global is trying to help organizations that are struggling to keep up with their credentialing requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic. To that end, the company is now offering an emergency badging solution that will allow healthcare providers, government agencies, and other essential organizations to issue and manage badges during the crisis.
The package comes with an HID FARGO desktop card printer, as well as the HID FARGO Connect Console needed to manage badges once they have been printed. It also includes a free six-month subscription to FARGO Connect and HID’s cloud-based identity management platform, in addition to a supply of the consumables needed to print physical cards.
Organizations can use the FARGO system to print new ID cards, and configure them to ensure that only authorized users have access to restricted areas of a building. The tool will enable contactless access control, and mitigate theft while improving overall security in a hectic environment like a hospital.
The news comes shortly after HID Global integrated its IdenTrust digital certificate solution into Keyfactor’s enterprise platform. HID Global previously released a new Signo line of access control readers, and has garnered praise for its indoor location services solutions for the healthcare industry. Those solutions include an app to help people navigate hospitals, and an alert system to improve response times during an emergency.
