IDnow, an identity proofing platform provider based in Munich, has obtained the PVID (“prestataire de verification d’identité à distance”) certification for its IDCheck.io Identity Proofing Service and VideoIdent Qualified Electronic Signature solution.
The certification, issued by France’s National Agency for the Security of Information Systems (ANSSI), demonstrates the company’s compliance with the European Union’s Regulation on Electronic Identification and Trust Services (eIDAS Regulation) for digital onboarding in the financial services sector. IDnow claims to be only the second private company to achieve this certification, which has a validity period of two years.
The PVID certification, introduced in March 2021, sets stringent requirements for identity verification providers in the face of increased risks of identity theft and fraud in the digital and remote transaction landscape. By complying with the ANSSI framework, IDnow aims to offer its customers in France secure and regulation-compliant identity proofing solutions.
In attaining the PVID certification, IDnow is seeking a competitive advantage in the digital identity proofing market. The certified IDCheck.io Identity Proofing Service and VideoIdent Qualified Electronic Signature provide customers with a trusted onboarding process, meeting the security requirements of the “Autorité de contrôle prudentiel et de resolution” (ACPR) and supporting anti-money laundering and fraud prevention efforts.
IDnow’s commitment to security is further demonstrated through its recent ISO 27001 certification, validating its implementation of robust information security protocols. Additionally, it became the first company to obtain an LSTI ISO/IEC 30107 certificate for its VideoIdent selfie-based identity verification platform through a CLR Labs and LSTI testing program focused on biometric technologies.
