HID Global has partnered with Innominds to improve venue security in the wake of COVID-19. The decision was made with an eye toward a hybrid work environment, based on the expectation that many people will continue to work remotely after the pandemic.
With that in mind, HID Global has integrated Innominds’ iFusion analytics technology into its own HID SAFE Facility and Risk Analytics solution to evaluate the risk level when an employee punches in at the office. iFusion will examine historical behavior patterns and assign a risk score to the new access event, before flagging any interactions that seem overly suspicious.
According to HID Global, the new solution will make it easier for businesses to maintain a high level of security. While a hybrid work environment is more convenient, it is also less predictable, and that creates more opportunities for potential criminals. iFusion’s tech will look at archived security information to warn venue operators about a potential security incident in real time, allowing them to respond in a more timely fashion.
“The ability to identify patterns of behavior that highlight risk is critical for businesses that increasingly are adopting a hybrid work model with more complex risks and compliance needs,” said HID Global Segment VP Julian Lovelock. “iFusion’s deep predictive analytics capabilities and its integration with HID Global’s physical identity management solutions ensure a secure work force environment, thus enabling enterprises to embrace the new normal.”
Innominds has recently been collaborating with PFU Limited on a facial recognition technology for smart camera applications. PFU is a Fujitsu subsidiary that entered Qualcomm’s Smart Cities Accelerator Program in July.
HID Global, meanwhile, has released a WorkforceID cloud-based credentialing platform that builds on the HID SAFE foundation. The company also announced that it has outfitted Avolon employees with digital IDs after deploying its Mobile Access solution at Avolon facilities all over the world.
