“With this integration with the Apple Health app, we are helping more people safely and seamlessly get back to what they know and love – whether it’s attending a football game or getting a table at your local restaurant.” – Caryn Seidman Becker, CEO, CLEAR
CLEAR has further expanded the utility of its Health Pass vaccination passport. The company has announced that its Health Pass app can now upload vaccination credentials from the iPhone’s Apple Health app.
The move should help to make CLEAR’s solution even more appealing for iPhone users, depending on whether their local government authorities have enabled vaccination credentials to be loaded into Apple’s health tracking app. Where that is the case, users can now easily load those credentials into CLEAR’s app to gain seamless access to CLEAR’s network of Health Pass partners.
“CLEAR’s Health Pass has always been about empowering people with greater access and control over their own health information,” explained CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman Becker. “With this integration with the Apple Health app, we are helping more people safely and seamlessly get back to what they know and love – whether it’s attending a football game or getting a table at your local restaurant.”
The Apple Health integration offers the latest sign that CLEAR’s Health Pass is gaining traction after some notable successes earlier this year. In March, for example, Walmart signed on to let customers link their loyalty accounts to CLEAR’s Health Pass, and April brought news of a multi-year partnership with the NBA. More recently, CLEAR announced last month that American Express had agreed to make Health Pass utility free to all restaurants using the Resy reservation platform until the end of next year.
The new Apple Health functionality is available to iPhone and iPad users who have upgraded to iOS 15. All they have to do is download the CLEAR app, enroll for Health Pass, and tap “Apple Health” from the list of options for adding proof of vaccination to the Health Pass.
