The mobile authentication specialist IPification is looking to corner the Cambodian market through a new partnership with Metfone. IPification is based in Hong Kong, and is the developer of a GMiD-BOX solution that allows network operators to offer better authentication and fraud prevention tools to app developers. That, in turn, allows those developers to deliver better user experiences to their customers.
The goal, according to IPification, is to accelerate Cambodia’s digital transformation with technologies that encourage consumers to adopt and continue using a variety of digital services. To that end, IPification’s solution can streamline the registration and login process, making digital technology more accessible to a wider range of people. It can also be deployed in virtually any industry, including banking, online retail, ride sharing, and delivery.
Metfone, meanwhile, is one of the leading mobile network operators in Cambodia. IPification is now available to 98 percent of the country’s mobile market thanks to an earlier partnership with Smart Axiata.
“Cooperation with IPification brings a new way of performing mobile-based user authentication and fraud prevention for a variety of businesses,” said Metfone Vice General Director Bui Minh Binh. “It will also help Metfone subscribers be more secure on their mobile phone whenever using IPification one-click login or 2FA in their apps. Metfone is assured this cooperation will speed up the digital transformation in Cambodia and development of the mobile app market.”
“We are looking forward to seeing the results that banks, online retailers, video and music streaming apps, and other service providers with users in Cambodia achieve by enabling IPification mobile authentication,” said IPification CEO Stefan Kostic.
The GSMA has argued that public and private entities need to work together to support mobile development in the Asia Pacific region. With that in mind, the organization has set up a Regulatory Pilot Space to foster the development of secure digital technologies in ASEAN member countries, which includes Cambodia.
