Ipsidy has officially become the newest member of the FIDO Alliance. The company is best known as the developer of the Proof onboarding solution, which leverages face and document recognition to verify the identities of new users when they open an account.
As a member of the Alliance, Ipsidy will work with FIDO to reduce the world’s reliance on passwords. In that regard, the company is already providing Proof services for LoginID’s new FIDO as a Service platform, which seeks to give clients a way to authenticate their own customers that is compliant with the latest FIDO standards.
Other recent Ipsidy partners include IECISA Perú and Intellicheck, the latter of which is a document recognition specialist.
“Universal strong authentication promises better security, enhanced privacy, more commerce, and expansion of services throughout digital industries. Ipsidy’s addition to our Alliance supports our industry goal to make user authentication easier and safer for all parties,” said FIDO Alliance Executive Director and CMO Andrew Shikiar.
“Ipsidy is committed to helping define the interoperable standards that will drive identity verification and strong authentication, delivered quickly to customer platforms and their users,” added Ipsidy CEO Phil Kumnick.
Ipsidy is not the only company joining the FIDO Alliance in September. The organization added Crayonic to its ranks earlier this month.
