Ipsidy has launched a new passwordless identity solution for the enterprise. The solution builds on the company’s existing relationship with LoginID, and has been dubbed AuthentifID.
AuthentifID combines Ipsidy’s Proof platform with LoginID’s device-based authentication technology. Proof is a face-based onboarding solution that matches a user selfie to the image on an official government ID, while LoginID uses biometric technology to link a user’s personal device to their identity and an account. As a result, companies that use AuthentifID will be able to confirm that the person registering a new device is indeed the true owner of the account, and is present during that registration process.
AuthentifID is compliant with the latest PSD2, FIDO2, and FIDO UAF protocols, and is designed to reduce the enterprise’s reliance on passwords. Employees can use the solution to gain passwordless access to sensitive corporate materials, while companies can use it to guard against fraud and mitigate the threat of data breaches.
“We are excited to partner with Ipsidy to offer developers a low-lift integration solution that incorporates Ipsidy’s trusted biometric identity verification during the end-user registration process, before our FIDO2 or UAF biometric authentication is added to a user’s profile,” said LoginID CEO Simon Law.
“Ipsidy is committed to ensuring our clients know the identity of their users with biometric certainty,” added Ipsidy Chairman and CEO Phillip Kumnick. “Binding a biometric identity under control of the enterprise with FIDO2 strong authentication creates a high assurance solution that is delivered easily to any customer platform, with the highest level of speed, accuracy and trust.”
LoginID integrated Proof into its own FIDO-as-a-Service offering in September. Ipsidy would then join the FIDO Alliance later in the month. More recently, the company has encouraged the use of biometric identity verification technology to help fight high rates of unemployment fraud during the pandemic.
