Jumio Adds iBeta Level-2 Certified Liveness Detection to Selfie-Based Solution

February 12, 2019

“With this technology now integrated into one of the most popular and successful mobile onboarding and authentication solution on the market, client organizations and end users will have access to a sophisticated authentication solution offering an unprecedented level of security.”

Jumio Adds iBeta Level-2 Certified Liveness Detection to Selfie-Based Solution

Jumio has empowered its selfie-based authentication platform with the market’s only iBeta Level-1 and Level-2 certified anti-spoofing liveness detection technology, thanks to a collaboration with FaceTec.

The integration has produced Jumio Authentication, a video selfie solution that supports both mobile-based enrollment and ongoing user authentication. Essentially, the solution takes Jumio’s foundational platform, which combines document reading and facial recognition to verify an end user’s identity, and adds FaceTec’s ZoOm 3D Face Login technology, which creates a 3D map of the user’s face using live video through a mobile camera for authentication.

With its ZoOm solution FaceTec became the first and only company in the industry to attain Level-1 certification in Presentation Attack Detection testing conducted by NVLAP-accredited iBeta last year; and just this month, FaceTec announced it had attained Level-2 certification, with another perfect score in resisting thousands of spoofing attempts conducted by iBeta technicians.

With this technology now integrated into one of the most popular and successful mobile onboarding and authentication solution on the market, client organizations and end users will have access to a sophisticated authentication solution offering an unprecedented level of security.

As FaceTec CEO Kevin Alan Tussy explained in a statement announcing the integration, “ZoOm provides Jumio’s customers with 3D face authentication featuring iBeta/NIST Level 1&2 Certified Liveness Detection based on the ISO 30107 standard, making it secure enough to replace passwords, knowledge-based authentication, and even SMS-based two-factor authentication on over 10 billion supported devices.”
