Jumio was once again listed as a gold winner at the 2020 IT World Awards. The identity verification specialist was recognized for its flagship Jumio Authentication solution, which took home the top prize in the Hot AI Technology of the Year Category.
Now in its 15th year, the annual IT World Awards are presented by New Products Guide to acknowledge leading achievements in the cybersecurity and IT space. Winners are selected by an international panel of industry judges, and are based on the average scores that those judges assign to each nominee. Categories include customer satisfaction, organizational performance, and successful deployments in addition to product and service innovations.
Jumio Authentication, meanwhile, uses face and document recognition to compare a selfie to the image on an official government ID. The remote onboarding solution debuted in February of 2019, and would go on to garner enough accolades to fill a sizable display case over the course of the next year. The company’s trophy haul already includes two Stevies, a handful of BIG Awards, and three Cybersecurity Excellence Awards.
“Earning gold validates our efforts to stop fraudsters by giving enterprises the tools they need to verify the digital identities of their customers,” said Jumio CEO Robert Prigge. “As the COVID-19 pandemic has shifted business online, the need for digital identity verification has never been greater. Jumio Authentication offers a secure password alternative, granting only the real user access to their account and stopping fraudsters from logging in with stolen credentials.”
This is Jumio’s third consecutive victory at the IT World Awards. The company’s Netverify solution picked up gold and bronze awards in 2018. Jumio then followed that up with another gold in the Security Software – Hot Technology and Solution category one year later in 2019.
Jumio recently revealed that it signed a record number of new customers in the second quarter of 2020. The boost largely reflects the transition to a remote ecosystem during the pandemic.
