South Korean telecommunications giant KT will showcase its latest artificial intelligence and communications technologies at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, establishing an exhibition hall with seven themed spaces. The expanded presence at MWC reflects the industry’s growing emphasis on AI-powered authentication and security solutions.
The company’s “K-Office” themed space will demonstrate AI agent services designed to enhance workplace efficiency. These services integrate AI models for various business applications, including wireless market competition analysis, GPU resource allocation optimization, and carbon emissions monitoring. The development matches the broader industry movement toward enhanced enterprise security and authentication measures, particularly as organizations increasingly depend on AI-driven workplace solutions.
In the “K-Lab” section, which focuses on future network technologies, KT will present its multimodal communication services. The technology enables AI systems to comprehend user intentions and context, facilitating communication that extends beyond traditional voice and video interactions to incorporate multiple sensory elements. The approach builds on established multimodal authentication systems that have gained traction in the security industry.
The telecommunications company has also formed a strategic partnership with Microsoft, focusing on AI and cloud technology development. The collaboration aims to combine the technological strengths of both organizations to advance their capabilities in these sectors. The partnership comes as Microsoft implements significant security updates across its enterprise platforms, including mandatory multi-factor authentication requirements.
In related industry developments, LG U+, another major South Korean telecommunications provider, will maintain its own presence at MWC 2025. The company plans to highlight its AI security solutions, including its AI agent “Excien,” a specialized communication AI model, and technology designed to detect deepfake content and prevent voice phishing attempts. The focus on deepfake detection reflects a growing industry trend, with companies like HONOR announcing similar technologies for launch in 2025.
KT’s exhibition at MWC 2025 demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to technological innovation in the telecommunications sector, with a particular emphasis on practical AI applications and advanced communication solutions. The showcase builds on South Korea’s broader leadership in digital innovation, as evidenced by recent implementations of biometric payment systems and other advanced authentication technologies in the country.
