Meitu is using Fingerprint Cards‘ FPC1235 sensor in a new device, the T8.
It isn’t the first time Meitu has used an FPC sensor. The company integrated an FPC1035 into its Meitu M6s smartphone announced late last year; and its first biometric smartphone, the original Meitu M6, used the same sensor model.
The integration suggests increasing popularity for this particular fingerprint sensor model, with Xiaomi having become the first mobile OEM to integrate it last autumn, when it brought the sensor to its Mix Mix device.
News of the integration follows soon after that of another, with FPC having announced the integration of its FPC1035 sensor into Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 4X last week.
