Pakistan’s National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced updated fee structures for 2025 covering various identity documents, including the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP). The revised structure, which supports NADRA’s ongoing digital transformation efforts, establishes different pricing tiers based on processing speed and geographical location.
For Arab countries, the normal NICOP processing fee is set at Rs5,500 or US$20, while urgent processing costs Rs8,300 or US$30. The executive category, offering the fastest processing, is priced at Rs11,000 or US$40.
Different fee structures apply to specific regions. In Belgium, which falls under Zone A, normal processing fees are Rs11,340 or US$39, urgent processing costs Rs16,589 or US$57, and executive processing is set at Rs21,820 or US$75.
For NICOP renewals in Arab countries, the fees are structured in UAE Dirhams: AED 75 for normal processing, AED 110 for urgent service, and AED 150 for executive processing.
NICOP holders receive several benefits, including visa-free travel to Pakistan on foreign passports, recognition as Pakistani citizens, ability to conduct property transactions, permission to open Pakistani bank accounts, eligibility for Pakistani passports, and voting rights while in Pakistan.
Applications can be submitted through multiple channels. Domestic applicants can visit any NADRA Registration Center, while international applicants can use the Pak-Identity website. As part of its modernization initiatives, NADRA is implementing a transition from its current Pak ID website to a new mobile application platform by January 17, 2025. The digital transformation aims to enhance service delivery and security measures, following the organization’s recent introduction of enhanced mobile services and home delivery options for identity documents.
