“…NEC indicated that it will show off solutions like its Automatic Fare Collection System, its Fleet Management Solution, its “ePaper” digital displays for traffic, and its facial recognition technologies.”
NEC is continuing its effort to promote its biometric and analytics technologies in the area of transportation, announcing plans to showcase its solutions at the American Public Transportation Association’s 2018 Annual Meeting next week.
In announcing its participation, NEC indicated that it will show off solutions like its Automatic Fare Collection System, its Fleet Management Solution, its “ePaper” digital displays for traffic, and its facial recognition technologies. It will therefore be making much the same case it made at the IT TRANS exhibition earlier this year, demonstrating how its technological solutions can be used to make the management of fleets and traffic in general more efficient and automated.
NEC’s promotion of transportation solutions is part of its larger push in the emerging smart city and smart government markets, which also includes the application of AI-driven video analytics technology to security feeds in order to scan for suspicious activity, and the use of facial recognition to identify visitors entering and leaving a given area.
The APTA 2018 Annual Meeting is scheduled to run from September 23rd to 26th in Nashville, Tennessee.
