Spain-based behavioral biometrics specialist Buguroo is looking to hone its focus on the French-speaking market with its latest executive hire. The company has appointed Richard da Silva as its EMEA Sales Director.
Da Silva joins the company after a previous tenure with RSA Security, which he joined as the Team Leader for Southern Europe, Middle East & Africa in 2013, ultimately rising to the position of Senior Enterprise Account Executive. Before that, da Silva worked for Dell, starting in the area of Business Operations in 2006 and leaving his position as Account Manager in 2012.
In a statement announcing da Silva’s appointment, Buguroo emphasized his “deep understanding of the technology drivers, best trade practices and business culture across Europe,” adding that his passion for technology will help Buguroo to meet its strategic objectives across the EMEA region. Buguroo CEO Pablo de la Riva added that the company is looking to “double down on [its] commitment to French-speaking countries” in the midst of a strong year for the company.
Buguroo’s strong performance this year is no doubt thanks in part to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has prompted a huge uptick in online activity and the attendant need for heightened and automated anti-fraud security. Buguroo has enjoyed a rising profile, as evidenced by its European Technology Innovation Award from Frost & Sullivan.
For his part, da Silva said he is “thrilled to be joining buguroo at such an exciting time, and to educate the market about the ways its technology solutions, backed by the most advanced behavioral and computer science, make not just banking but the world itself safer.”
