“The integration will drastically speed up the onboarding process for mobile banking, which can ordinarily take up to two weeks with a digital account.”
Bahrain’s Bank ABC is rolling out a new mobile-only banking service, and is asking Jumio to help make it happen. Specifically, the bank will be integrating Jumio’s Identity Verification platform, which provides selfie-based onboarding and authentication and eliminates the need to visit a physical bank branch while opening a new account.
To use Jumio’s Identity Verification platform, Bank ABC customers first need to take a photo of their official government ID. They will then need to take a selfie. Using document reading tech and biometric facial recognition bolstered by robust liveness detection, Jumio’s solution matches the user to the person in the ID.
The platform will drastically speed up the onboarding process for mobile banking, which can ordinarily take up to two weeks with a digital account.
“As more and more customers move online and transact via their mobile devices, it’s critical for Bank ABC to deliver a simple, fast and intuitive onboarding experience that takes minutes, not hours or days,” said Yousif Almas, the Group Chief Digital Officer at Bank ABC.
The news makes Bank ABC the latest company to embrace Jumio’s Identity Verification services in recent months. Jumio previously announced partnerships with TruNarrative and the online gaming platform Novibet, and also renewed its security agreement with Monzo.
