China-based smartphone maker QiKu has chosen Fingerprint Cards technology for the fingerprint sensor of its newest smartphone. The QiKu Flagship Ultimate features an FPC1025 sensor.
It’s a popular sensor model, having also been integrated into recent smartphones like the Huawei Mate 8 and ZTE’s Axon Max. Of course, FPC sensors are popular in general; riding the surge of interest in fingerprint sensors from smartphone OEMs over the past year, FPC has become a leading supplier and even saw its stock become the best performing in Europe for 2015.
The integration is good news for Precise Biometrics too, as its Precise BioMatch Mobile algorithm software powers the FPC1025 sensor. It’s only the latest in a string of integrations via FPC sensors that have provided a boost to Precise Biometrics’ revenues.
FPC-enabled integrations like that of the QiKu Flagship Ultimate are likely to continue for some time to come, benefiting both fingerprint tech companies.
