Nok Nok Labs has renewed its security partnership with ForgeRock. The authentication specialist was one of the inaugural members of the ForgeRock Trust Network when the program was announced in 2017, and has officially been a member of the Network since 2018.
The joint solution blends Nok Nok’s FIDO-certified S3 Authentication Suite with the ForgeRock Identity Platform to provide their respective customers with a comprehensive identity verification solution that can be deployed in a variety of settings. The S3 Suite is a multimodal biometric solution that enables secure passwordless authentication, while the Identity Platform makes it easier for an organization to manage a large number of accounts.
The two companies note that their combined offering can help companies meet the increasingly strict GDPR and PSD2 privacy regulations. The technology is also relatively easy to scale, making it a useful solution for organizations of virtually any size.
“Integration with ForgeRock provides a logical extension for organizations looking to leverage standards-based authentication in their access management solutions,” said Nok Nok Products VP Rolf Lindemann.
“Lost, weak, often forgotten passwords can lead to cart abandonment, lost revenue and eventually lost customers,” added ForgeRock Global Strategy and Innovation VP Ben Goodman. “Nok Nok allows our customers to authenticate their new users quickly and securely, which minimizes abandonment and provides a seamless experience from the very beginning.”
Nok Nok recently released an updated version of the S3 Authentication Suite that will offer greater coverage for smart watches. The company has also launched a new IoT SDK to help bring multi-factor authentication to a range of connected devices.
ForgeRock, meanwhile, has unveiled a ForgeRock Go authentication solution that will offer greater support for FIDO’s WebAuthN standard. Before that, the company published a Consumer Identity Breach Report that warned that US organizations lost more than $1.2 trillion to data breaches in 2019.
