OneID, a digital identity service provider in the UK, has announced a strategic partnership with IDVerse, the digital ID verification company formerly known as OCR Labs. This collaboration will enable OneID to integrate IDVerse’s digital identity verification technologies into its platform.
OneID primarily relies on partner banks to authenticate its users’ identities and also supports biometric security. IDVerse, meanwhile, offers a comprehensive suite of identity tools, including biometric liveness detection and age verification.
Notably, IDVerse stands out for its use of generative AI technology, ensuring its biometric systems remain free from algorithmic bias based on factors like race, gender, and age. This feature helps create more inclusive and reliable identity verification processes, aligning with OneID’s commitment to secure and accessible digital identity solutions.
The companies say that IDVerse’s use of generative AI in training deep neural network systems ensures a 99.99% accuracy rate, a testament to its commitment to providing robust and discrimination-free identity verification.
The partnership further enhances OneID’s already extensive capabilities, enabling more inclusive onboarding experiences for users across various industries. IDVerse’s boasts 20 certifications for Right to Work, Right to Rent, and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) from the United Kingdom’s Digital Identity & Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF). DIATF is an initiative by the UK Government, establishing rules, standards, and governance oversight for Digital Identity Service Providers (IDSP), Attribute Service Providers (ASP), and Orchestration Service Providers (OSP). Its main objective is to facilitate the creation and utilization of digital identities across a wide range of applications. The framework aims to ensure trustworthy digital identities or attributes are provided to third parties that have no prior knowledge about the individual.
Commenting on the partnership, Adrian Field, Director of Market Development at OneID, said IDVerse “bring the best in AI technology and services which complement OneID’s offering,” adding, “Their next-gen, app-free document recognition and selfie matching capabilities are also unparalleled, removing friction from the onboarding journey and empowering businesses to offer a smooth customer experience.”
News of the partnership comes after OneID named Paula Sussex, the former chief executive of the UK government’s Student Loans Company, as its new CEO in April of this year.
