Health engagement solutions provider RedBrick Health has received certification from the National Committee for Quality Assurance for its RedBrick Compass and RedBrick Journeys programs. The digital solutions both met the NCQA’s qualifications to ear Wellness & Health Promotion certifications.
RedBrick Compass is a digital question-and-answer guide that helps users produce an assessment of their general health; RedBrick Journeys, meanwhile, uses a game-like framework to nudge users towards better health habits, gleaning behavioural and biometric results along the way. Both are aimed at helping organizations improve the health of their employees, and both have now been found to meet the self-management and health appraisal tool quality requirements laid out by the NCQA’s Wellness & Health Promotion Certification program.
As employers seek to drive down the costs of healthcare benefits, digital technology is playing an increasing role, and more and more that is starting to encompass biometric elements too. Sometimes this plays out controversially with respect to privacy concerns as employees react against having their biometric health stats scrutinized by employers; but generally the technology seems to offer opportunities both to employers and employees alike, and indeed, there is no such a proliferation of biometric data available from wearable devices and even from smartphones that solutions are needed just to agglomerate and make sense of it.
