RSA and Silverfort Collaborate on IoT Authentication

September 6, 2019

“… SecurID authentication solutions like biometrics and push notifications can now be extended to the kinds of vulnerable IT infrastructure that Silverfort seeks to secure.”

RSA and Silverfort Collaborate on IoT Authentication

A new collaboration between RSA and Silverfort is poised to help extend biometric security to the Internet of Things.

The latter specializes in delivering authentication solutions to parts of a corporate network that have hitherto been considered “unprotectable”, as Silverfort puts it. These include things like IoT devices, in-house applications, machine-to-machine access points, dynamic IaaS environments, and other IT infrastructure.

RSA, meanwhile, is the company behind RSA SecurID Access, a multi-factor authentication platform. And SecurID Access is now interoperable with Silverfort’s Next-Generation Authentication solutions, which means that SecurID authentication solutions like biometrics and push notifications can now be extended to the kinds of vulnerable IT infrastructure that Silverfort seeks to secure.

Commenting on the collaboration in a statement, Silverfort CEO and co-founder Hed Kovetz emphasized the new technological solutions that it will offer to businesses and other enterprise organizations. “The RSA Ready ecosystem and Silverfort together offer a powerful and unique solution that addresses fast growing security challenges in today’s enterprises,” he said. “We are proud to become part of the RSA Ready Program and thrilled to deliver together seamless, secure authentication and Zero Trust policies suitable for today’s hybrid perimeter-less networks.”

Arriving at a time of growing concern over IoT security in general, the Silverfort-RSA interoperability represents that latest step forward in finding security solutions for organizations that are more connected than ever.
