The passwordless authentication specialist Secret Double Octopus will be looking to expand its customer base after bringing on Steve Laubenstein as its new Vice President of Global Sales. Laubenstein has more than 20 years of executive experience in the cybersecurity industry, and joins the company following a stint as the General Manager at Core Security.
Secret Double Octopus is hoping that Laubenstein will help the company meet the growing demand for strong authentication solutions in the wake of COVID-19. The company noted that the vast majority (90 percent) of large enterprises were the target of a cyberattack in 2020, and those enterprises are now searching for technology that can cover a remote work environment.
“I am excited to join the Secret Double Octopus team and help companies go passwordless across their entire organization,” said Laubenstein. “As the attack surface within organizations continues to expand, and bad actors become increasingly sophisticated, going passwordless can greatly reduce cybersecurity risk in organizations.”
“With his vast knowledge of enterprise needs and market demands, proven leadership capabilities, and shared vision of passwordless authentication, we are confident in Steve’s abilities to help us reach our goals during this exciting time for Secret Double Octopus,” added Secret Double Octopus Co-Founder and CEO Raz Rafaeli.
Secret Double Octopus brought in $15 million in Series B funding in May of 2020, and has indicated that it enjoyed continued growth throughout the pandemic. Asigra and Okta are on the company’s current client roster, while its authentication server received FIDO2 certification back in 2019.
