The Swiss mobile network operator Swisscom will now offer support for IPification’s phone verification technologies. When integrated into a mobile app, IPification’s solution allows end users to confirm their phone number with a single click, speeding up the identity verification process with secure multi-factor authentication.
IPification’s platform was built to replace SMS one-time passwords (OTP), which add considerable friction to the authentication process. The OTPs can also be intercepted, making them one of the more vulnerable forms of authentication.
The IPification portfolio includes includes SIM Swap detection and data services in addition to the phone verification feature. Swisscom will use the former to stop fraudsters that try to move SIM cards to fool the IPification service.
“It’s a big day for IPification to partner with Swisscom and continue our expansion throughout Western Europe,” said IPification CEO Stefan Kostic.
“Protecting and securing digital transactions has become a priority for us as part of our ongoing commitment to our customers, merchants, and partners,” said Swisscom Head of OTT and Peering Services Amir Peled. “Partnering with IPification allows us to better protect and secure digital services in an increasingly online world.”
IPification’s technology made its debut in the United Kingdom back in February. The company is based in Hong Kong, and previously partnered with Metfone to strengthen its presence in the Cambodian market.
